Equipment and changes to your home can help with everyday tasks like:

  • moving around the house
  • getting up and down stairs
  • getting in and out of the bath

Equipment might include:

  • home nursing equipment, like commodes and pressure-relief mattresses
  • equipment for daily living, like shower grab rails, bath/shower seats and raised toilet seats
  • ancillary equipment for people with sensory impairment, like flashing doorbells and assistive listening devices
  • wheelchairs
  • environmental control devices, controls equipment in the home with a remote control
  • communication aids, help people with speech, writing and reading difficulties

Changes to your home might include:

  • widening doors for wheelchair access
  • installing a ramp
  • replacing your bath with a level-access shower
