National Assistance (Assessment of Resources) Regulations 1992

The National Assistance (Assessment of Resources) Regulations 1992 and the associated Charging for Residential Accommodation Guidance (CRAG), published by the Scottish Government, allow local councils to charge for the residential care they provide or arrange.

The regulations set out how a care home resident’s income and capital should be treated during the financial assessment.
